The Tastery was founded in the spring of 2017 by Chef Starr Montout — a passionate foodie turned chef — who began her culinary journey by sharing her now-famous "Best Damn Banana Pudding” with local fans. Inspired by a love for diverse cuisines, bold flavors, and global cultures, Chef Starr decided to formally pursue her culinary education at the Hotel, Culinary Arts, and Tourism Institute (HCAT) at Anne Arundel Community College.

The Tastery blends soulful comfort with Caribbean and Latin flair, using only the highest quality meats, poultry, and the freshest fruits and vegetables. Every dish is handcrafted with vibrant herbs, spices, and a twist on the classics — no flavor combination is off-limits.

Today, The Tastery is known for delivering exceptional culinary experiences through private chef services, intimate social catering, and interactive cooking classes. We serve small gatherings and events of up to 50 guests, offering both in-home dining and customized team-building experiences that bring people together over thoughtfully prepared meals.
